One of the ideas for quantum security without excessive refactoring is to make covenantial merklization. The solution apparent is to employ an orchestrator functionality within the covenant that will upon spending activation leave the unused leaves on an off-chain while the activated path is committed to the p2sh covenant merkle root. Special thanks to Ori and Michael for taking less than a minute to point this solution out - just wanted to make this more publicly visible as an avenue to pursue and lightly comment on.
